The tuner doesn’t hear anything

The app needs microphone permission. If it’s missing, the tuner screen itself shows a button that opens Settings. You can also check it yourself:

iPhone: Settings → Sound Tools → Microphone.
Android: Settings → Apps → Sound Tools → Permissions → Microphone.

If you have headphones connected, sound comes in through the headphone microphone, which usually picks up the instrument less well.

The note it detects isn’t the one I’m playing

Play a single string and let it ring. With several notes at once, the tuner follows the loudest one. If you want to know which chord or key is playing, use Music mode in the Analyser tab.

I bought Sound Tools Pro and still see ads

Open Profile → Restore purchase.

iPhone: the purchase belongs to your Apple Account, so it can be restored on any device signed in with that same account, and it is shared with your Family Sharing group if you have it turned on.
Android: the purchase belongs to your Google account. On another phone with that same account, Pro is recognized automatically when you open the app; the button checks with Google Play again, just in case.

On Android, a notification appears while the metronome is playing

That is what lets the metronome keep playing with the screen off or while you use another app. It goes away when you stop the metronome.

The decibels on the watch don’t match the ones on the iPhone

That’s expected: the Apple Watch meter uses the iPhone microphone’s calibration until you adjust it yourself, which is why it is marked as estimated. You can correct it from the level screen itself, by comparing it with a sound level meter or with the phone.

The Apple Watch app doesn’t show up

It installs along with the iPhone app. If you don’t see it, open the Watch app on your phone, find Sound Tools under “Available Apps” and install it from there. It works on its own, without needing the iPhone with you. The Apple Watch app only works with iPhone: there is no version for Android watches.
